ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ
Fikellura pottery was produced in Miletus (560-494 BC). The style was spread extensively in Rhodes, Samos, the Black Sea and Egypt. It is characterised by a rich geometric and floral decoration as well as a broad use of animal motifs. New elememts attributed to the decoration of the style are the half-moon and the helix, as well as the free background. The main shapes are the amphora, the amphoriskos and the oenochoe. |
