ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ
The Octagon stands out among the other funerary monuments arranged around the busy public edifices in the area of the Lower Embolos. This is a structure with an innovative design and an octagonal ground plan, dating to the second half of the 1st cent. BC. There are grounds to identify it as the tomb of Arsinoe IV, murdered at Ephesus in 41 BC at the behest of Mark Antony. |
